Isabel Fryszberg won audiences last year with her band Isabel and the Uncommons at Winterfolk and returns back as a duo with the uncommonly good Tony Quarrington. Together they perform songs from her debut album Heart’s and Arrows plus some more tasteful surprises. “If you came for the voice and the heartbreak, Isabel delivers the goods with an uncommon authenticity.” Her album has garnered glowing reviews in music publications such as Cashbox Canada, Canadian Music Week, and No Depression. “This is a new line of soul food, a variety on a plate as traditional as corn and peas in butter with some spinach and string beans on the side” John Aspice, No Depression. Isabel Fryszberg was recently awarded a community arts grant from the Ontario Arts Council to record original songs with Don Kerr in collaboration with the members of the Creative Works Studio. Isabel founded Creative Works Studio in Toronto to help people with mental health and addiction issues find creative self expression through music and visual arts. |
